Course Description

Would you like to meet up with a group of like minded people regularly to share your watercolour journey? This regular series of guided watercolour workshops is suitable for all levels, whether you have some experience of working in watercolour, or are a complete beginner. Each session, you'll learn to use different watercolour techniques to create a landscape or seascape to take home with you. You’ll explore techniques such as: wet on wet, basic washes, different mark making, lifting off, wax resist, spatter, cling film, masking fluid. All materials will be provided, but you are advised to have your own materials, mainly so you can do some practice between sessions. There is no requirement to attend every session; however, the expectation is that you can attend most sessions so that the group has a shared sense of purpose and progress. Sessions run from 10:00 to 13:00 and take place on Tuesdays at Unit 3, Welburn Business Park, Welburn, North Yorkshire YO60 7EP, which is just off the A64. The price is £45 per session, payable each session. The first 6 dates are: 14-Jan 28-Jan 11-Feb 18-Mar 25-Mar 22-Apr. Thereafter, dates are roughly fortnightly. Booking by January 1st 2025 is essential. Ione is a landscape artist and tutor with over 30 years' teaching experience. Her aim in teaching is firstly, that you feel supported to develop confidence and skill in using the wonderful medium of watercolour and secondly, that you to enjoy a restorative, creative time playing with paint.
