Course Description
A workshop to beat the winter blues! We will use vibrant colours and fun techniques to create an atmospheric, expressive painting of cow parsley. This workshop is suitable for you whether you have some experience of watercolour and would like to explore new techniques, or are a complete beginner. After playing with colour and exploring the techniques, you’ll be guided step by step to create two atmospheric paintings to take home with you. You'll explore some easy to use, fun techniques (masking fluid, cling film and spatter) as well as practising more traditional washes and wet on wet painting. Our aim will be to create a painting with atmosphere, drama and contrast. All materials are provided so you just need to bring yourself. The focus of the workshop is very much on play and exploration - come and enjoy a fun morning with wonderful watercolour. The workshop runs from 10am to 1 pm and takes place in the main gallery of Helmsley Arts Centre, where you will be surrounded by inspiring art. Refreshments - tea/coffee/cake - will be available so please advise any dietary restrictions. Ione is a landscape artist and tutor with over 30 years' teaching experience. Her aim in her teaching is firstly, that you feel supported to develop confidence and skill in using the wonderful medium of watercolour, and secondly, that you to enjoy a restorative, creative time playing with paint. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to email ioneharrisonart@gmail.com
